Christmas Day is a day off for many businesses and their employees, which provides time to spend with family and friends. There are still a few Branson attractions that are open year round, even on Christmas Day. We’ve compiled a list of those below, along with some restaurants and some alternative ideas on how to spend your vacation in the Ozarks.

Wonderworks

Aquarium at the promenade

Shepherd of the Hills North Pole Adventure

This attraction includes an exhibition of Christmas lights, real reindeer, a petting zoo, bouncy houses, a 9-hole mini-golf course, a “little elves” play area, animated exhibits reused from the classic drive-in, a nursery, and more. Opens at 3 p.m. Buy tickets for North Pole Adventure here.

Gingerbread village at the castle on the lake

Stop in the resort lobby to admire an incredible display of sweets, all created in-house by the hotel’s culinary team. During your stay at the castle, also discover the magnificent nativity scene (a twin of the set presented in Alone at home) just around the corner of the village and see Santa Claus sliding down the rafters! Grand Lodge of Cedar

The resort is impressively decorated for the holidays. You can take a holiday light trolley ride, skate on a synthetic “ice” skating rink (open until 9:00 p.m.), attend a chapel service at 6:30 p.m., and more. Branson Landing

Most retailers will be closed at the pier on Christmas Day, but you can still stroll through the shopping district or take in the lake views from the hiking trails. A new, state-of-the-art 63-foot animated Christmas tree in the main plaza is choreographed to music. A 15-minute show takes place at the top and bottom of each hour from dusk until 10 p.m., including Christmas night. The iconic Branson Worshiping Nativity scene on Mount Branson can also be viewed from here.

America Christmas Tree City Tour
Various places

Hiking and nature trails
Various places
Branson is home to hundreds of miles of beautiful hiking trails year round. Some of the more popular places include Dogwood Canyon Nature Park, Ruth & Paul Henning Conservation Area, or Table Rock State Park.
